Dethatching

Controlling thatch is one of the most important – and most overlooked – parts of lawn care.

Thatch is the layer of dead grass, roots, and debris that accumulates between the top of the soil and the green grass blades. It is recommended that a property is dethatched each spring to ensure healthy growth all season long.

Benefits of Dethatching:

  1. Cleans out your lawn's roots to allow grass to breathe
  2. Creates the space for new grass to grow to create a thick lawn
  3. Exposes the roots to warmth and sunlight to increase healthy growth. This is very important when trying to build a lawn that is not only green but thick and full
  4. After dethatching, fertilizer will then be able to reach the roots of your lawn, allowing the treatments to now be more effective
